New Songs for Darkness Before the Light

Because I have been so hard at work revising and editing Journey through Darkness, I haven't been able to spend as much time as I would like on the soundtrack this month. I hope all of that will change in January when the novel goes into publication for release in the spring. I expect to launch right into my next project, Journey of the Damned, Book II of the Journey Saga soon after.

So far I am making pretty good progress with 5 instrumentals completed. I only have 3 more to go. As noted previously, the first single is Amazon Ancestors with the bonus remix track. War Drum and The Calling were completed in October. This month I have added two new instrumentals to the soundtrack, Lioness of Kush and Season of the Scorpion.

Lioness of Kush is dark and dramatic with a classical/urban combination that I think will appeal to a diverse audience.

Season of the Scorpion conveys a light mood, and like Lioness of Kush blends pianos and strings together. The beat is a Bossa Nova/Beguine mix, or at least that what was what I was going for. :D

The new releases will be available for listening March 2010

Latest progress on the JTD Soundtrack

The JTD soundrack is most likely going to have 8 tracks. One of those songs is available for listening now. It is entitled Amazon Ancestors, one of my personal favorites.

So far there are two additional tracks completed:

War Drum and The Calling, both using djembes, congos, and other percusson instruments.

What I am working on Now

As of last week I've been working on instrumentals for the soundtrack to Journey through Darkness. So far I have completed two tracks entitled "War Drum" a strictly percussion ensemble, and "Native Fury" a blend of percussions and dramatic strings.
